Having a nice, quiet barbeque in your backyard can be a time well spent with friends and family. Nothing beats sharing stories, laughter, and delicious barbeques with your pals. Some enjoy it eating their food inside the house watching sports or movies and accidentally you or your friends may spill some of the barbeque sauce on the carpet. This can instantly ruin your afternoon as barbeque sauce can really result in a nasty stain that can really destroy the carpet’s appearance. Dealing with it can be tough which is why many people have a problem with this kind of situation. With the right cleaning approach though you can get through this in one piece and still be able to return your carpet to normal. Here are the steps that you need to follow to remove barbeque sauce stains from your carpet.

First things first, you’ll need to remove the excess barbeque sauce from the floor to prevent it from spreading further. Get a blunt kitchen knife and carefully scrape the barbeque sauce from the carpet’s surface. After doing this, you’ll only have to deal with the ugly red stain that will be left behind.

To get the stain off of the carpet you’ll need to gather the necessary cleaning materials you’ll be using. For this procedure, you’ll need to get a clean white cloth, some mild non-bleach detergent, some water, and a spray bottle,

Once yo have gathered the materials, it’s now time to deal with the stain. First, apply some lukewarm water on the stain if it has already dried up. This will help make it easier for you to remove. After applying the water, blot the stain using the clean white cloth. You’ll see some of the stain transfer onto the cloth which is always a good sign. Continue doing this until the stain stops transferring to the cloth’s surface.

Next, prepare the cleaning solution which you will apply on the stain. Mix a teaspoon of mild non-bleach detergent with a liter of cold water and put some inside the spray bottle. Spray the stained area with this cleaning solution and continue blotting using the clean surface of the clean white cloth. Repeat this until the stain is completely gone.

After completing the stain removal, get a bucket of water and rinse the portion of the carpet you just finished cleaning. This will avoid having cleaning solution residue from being left behind. Finish it off by using your wet/dry vac to dry the area.

Barbeque sauce is perfect for your steak and burgers but never on your carpet. If ever you accidentally spill barbeque sauce on your carpet, don’t worry as you’ll only need to follow the guide above to get rid of it completely and make your carpet spotless once again.
